In 2012, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) initiated the introduction of the New Distribution Capability (NDC), displaying a new concept in IATA Resolution 787.
The main objective of the NDC is the creation of standards that modernize the business of each airline by dramatically changing the distribution system and the realization of air transportation due personalized offers, created for a specific passenger based on a single standard of XML protocol, as well as simplifying the sales of additional services for the sale of which airlines see the extra income.
The company "Sirena-Travel" has started the project of realization of the New distribution model in the beginning of 2016. The goal of the project was to create a product to provide a modern and effective interoperability of the aggregator systems (GDS), carriers' interline partners (code sharing) and other vendors with the PSS Leonardo system in the process of obtaining information on traffic offers and airline services for selling them using IATA NDC.
On September 21, 2016, IATA certified and registered the Leonardo NDC Gateway product introduced by Sirena-Travel as solution IT Provider Level 2, implementing the IATA NDC standard.
Developments of the Leonardo NDC Gateway product, implementing IT Provider Level 3 solutions, are planned to be completed by the end of 2017. The product will support the interaction of the NDC standard in its entirety, providing both supplying transportation offers and additional paid services, as well as their sale and issuing, thereby ensuring the entire cycle of the services of carriers using the PSS Leonardo system.
In 2018 the company Sirena-Travel plans to introduce Sirena-Travel NDC Gateway product, which implements Aggregator solutions, intended for use by GDS Sirena-Travel agents.
