Press conference OZON.Travel in association with TCH and Sirena-Travel

On December 17, was held a press conference for journalists of Travel industry with the participation of one of the leading online travel agents in Russia OZON.travel, GDS Sirena-Travel and Transport Clearing House (TCH) on the launch of large-scale joint co-projects on  sale of hotel services.

Press conference was held  in Moscow at the Digital October center. In the conference took part general director of Ozon.travel agency Dmitriy Yakovlev, commercial director of Sirena-Travel Marina Volodina and vice president of TCH Marina Bukalova. New hotel booking service was presented during the conference. As a part of the conference several topics were discussed: a current situation on the travel market, functionality and the prospects of this co-project.
General director of OZON.travel Dmitriy Yakovlev has commented this cooperation: "The project is useful primarily to the fact,  that the agents do not need to do anything additionally: from today at the terminals of Sirena-Travel you just should use  a new button for booking. In our opinion, this project will help increase sales, primarily domestic hotels for people traveling around the country, as well as for those who are used to purchase travel services in off-line agency. Given that the share of domestic flights this year increased by almost in 10% and amounted to 73%, the project has a good chance for success. "

As noted the commercial director of "Sirena-Travel" Marina Volodina - "nowadays,  in a time of  pragmatists and realists, more than ever is important to use a maximum possibilities in domestic GDS. Sales development in the tourism market goes into a format, which include:  improving the services quality, ease of use and being in demand. We have done a lot of work together and  believe, that the results of it will help agents and their clients to feel themselves more confident in a difficult market situation of Travel Industry ".

Vice president of TCH Marina Bukalova is convinced that this direction will be successful developed, because today contacting with traditional agency the traveler wants to book multiple services, not just an air transportation. For agents, accredited in TCH, the settlement payments are performed in a unified scheme within the framework of TCH.

Co-project for the sale of hotel services, which incorporates service Ozon.travel, global distribution systems "Sirena-Travel" and Transport Clearing House (TCH) is a logical step to optimize not only technologies of tour services sales, but also provides the highest level for booking security, because all transactions between Ozon.travel as a supplier of hotels and accredited agency are being made through the TCH under standard rules and technologies.
Integration of reservation system "Sirena-Travel" and platform Ozon.travel ends, processing systems and extracts of documents, confirming the hotel reservation, are adapted. In the near future in the terminals of  "Sirena Travel" for the cashiers of accredited agencies will be available for sale not only air- and railway transportation, but also the hotel services from Ozon.travel . Ist 278 thousands Hotels, apartments and hostels around the world and Russia. Participants agreed , that this project is of high demand amonge the travel agents, very actual  and has a good chance to develop further.

The participants of the press conference were agreed with a o journalists, that the crisis in the tourism sector have place ... But the crisis is it? On a global scale there is no sales slowdown in the tourist market, in opposit  - there is a positive dynamics of its growth. What will have to face the agent if the consumer activity come down? Are there any formal limits of off-line and on-line sales and how to use the positive factors of each of these business models? If ещ summarize the views of the participants of the press conference it becomes obvious:  in the main the market is already formed and there is no place for the"newcomers". The barriers to entry into the market is quite high. - "Next year there will be a strong market consolidation - due to mergers, acquisitions,  possible reduction of the number of travel agents in this segment - thinks commercial director of "Sirena-Travel" Marina Volodina. - Our statistics for this year shows that the big players become even larger and the new serious did not appear. Taking in account the difficult economic situation in the country in 2015 we are not expecting the new players come to the market. Large consolidators will determine the terms in the market of online sales.

The Russian market of online sales is just too small for the number of players who are present on it now, - said M. Volodina - only the strongest will survive. Russian and foreign analysts are of the opinion that in the future in the Russian market of online sales will stay only be 5-6 big players."
From all this there is one conclusion: as quantitative expansion is actually exhausted and the market will  decline, consolidate ,  remains - qualitative solution. Here is a space for business. The priority will have the development of online-services which are offering the travel products, services, additional and related sales. Ozon7 
Dmitriy Yakovlev, general director Ozon. travel noted,  that domestic flights, sold by OZON.travel, increased since the beginning of 2014 by almost in 10%  and amount up 73% of overall volume, the project has a good chance for success. However, we must learn the cashiers across the country, accustomed to work only with tickets, to sell the hotels.
In general, despite the current market conditions and the problems associated with the ruble curse, Russian tourist market has the future, there is a lot of experience in difficult conditions, technologies and software for tickets or hotels booking are developing and become more comfortable and secure.
